Carpinteria Unified School
District
Education is alive and well in the
Carpinteria Valley, where dedicated teachers challenge, guide
and support students through learning programs designed with
each child's needs in mind.
The Carpinteria Unified School District
administers eight schools from Summerland to Carpinteria to the
Santa Barbara county line. The district has 3,224 students
enrolled in four Elementary Schools, one Middle School, one
Alternative School for 7-12 grade, one High School, and one
Continuation School for grades 9-12. Approximately 90% of
our high school graduates attend a 4-year college or university,
a community college, enroll in trade schools or apprentice
programs, or join the Armed Forces.
These schools, governed by a five-member
Board of Education elected by Valley residents, benefit from
unusually strong parental and community support. Call (805)
684-4511 for more information.
Independent Schools
Cate School, an independent, co-educational
four-year college preparatory boarding school, has been part of
the valley since 1911. Today 248 day and boarding students study
under the care of 40 faculty members on a splendid hillside
campus. Call (805) 684-4127.
